Ingredients
- 500g minced chicken
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
- 2 green chillies, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 inch cinnamon stick
- 3-4 cloves
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnishing)
- Lemon wedges (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cinnamon stick, and cloves. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add the chopped onions and cook until golden brown. Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
- Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the masala starts to release oil.
- Add the minced chicken and mix well with the masala. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
- Add garam masala powder and about 1/4 cup of water. Mix well, cover, and let it simmer for another 5-7 minutes.
- Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
Serving
Serve hot with rice, rotis, or bread of your choice. You can also squeeze some lemon juice on top just before serving for a tangy twist.
